Breaking: Georgia sign in a Five-star receiver from Nevada in a blockbuster deal.
Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame are the candidates for the five-star receiver from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman who wants to reveal a college commitment on July 20 on the 247Sports YouTube channel.
The competition for five-star wide receiver Derek Meadows has intensified, leading the outstanding player to decide to defer his commitment date.
The Top247 talent from dominant Bishop Gorman, who has finalists Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, and Notre Dame vying for his services, is now scheduled to make his college decision public on July 20 at 3 p.m. ET / 12 PT on the 247Sports YouTube channel. He had originally planned to tie the knot this Saturday, but he has chosen to postpone the momentous occasion by one week.
According to 247Sports rankings, Meadows is the top player in Nevada for the 2025 class, the 32nd best overall prospect in the US, and the sixth best wide receiver.
The extremely athletic Meadows had a packed schedule of official visits, including dates at Michigan (May 31), Georgia (June 7), Notre Dame (June 14), LSU (June 18), and Alabama (June 21).
“I’m looking at a lot of things with these schools,” Meadows said in a recent interview with 247Sports. “But I know they have to have great leaders, great education, and a great quarterback to throw the ball.” In general, I’m determining which is best for my future and me.”
During the assessment phase, the outstanding pass catcher and current Gatorade state track and field player of the year exceeded the 20-offer threshold and swiftly soared up college staff lists. In the 300-meter hurdles, 6-foot-6, 200-pound Meadows set a time of 36.73 seconds.
Meadows was credited with 15 receptions for 391 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games during his junior season. With a broad catch radius and a towering build, Meadows possesses the most physical potential of any prospect in the West for the cycle.
Having seen Meadows in person a few times this offseason, 247Sports’ national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins is quite optimistic about Meadows’ ability to make an impact at the next level and beyond.
Biggins said in the scouting report, “Meadows is a jumbo receiver and one of the more intriguing players in the 2025 class.” He is only beginning to reach the potential we believe he is capable of because of his unique combination of stature, athleticism, and body control. With an 80-inch wingspan, he should pose an immediate threat in the red zone for smaller defensive backs. He is one of the best hurdlers in the area and was named the Gatorade Track and Field Athlete of the Year in his sophomore year. Given his size, it wouldn’t surprise us if he developed into a deadly pass-catching tight end who could run the center of the field and disrupt linebackers and safeties.”
