Providence has received a commitment from Jaylen Harrell, the No. 94 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound small forward from Braintree, Massachusetts, went with the Friars over Xavier, Rutgers, Kansas, Alabama, and Virginia Tech. He attended Cambridge Arts, Technology, and Science.

“I chose Providence because It felt like a family over there,” he stated. “I consider Kim to be my big brother and I adore the coaching staff.” We believe we have a strong chance to take home a national title.”

When Harrell decided which institution to attend, he also had strong feelings regarding the Friar’s playing style. English wants to see Harrell contribute to the score while strengthening his defense.

He claimed that “Providence has NBA play style.” They shoot a lot of threes, especially transition threes, because they play similar to the Boston Celtics. He will push me to defend because he needs scoring. He wants me to play both ways so I can work in his system that way.”

Harrell’s decision was influenced by many player comparisons that Coach English presented him.

“There were many highlights of Devin Carter with his freedom when we were watching the movie,” he remarked. “I also noticed a lot of Paul Pierce game scenarios that I could have played in. All he needs from me is a scorer who can defend himself.”

Harrell gets Kim English’s second commitment in the class of 2025. He replaces Jamier Jones, a four-star forward.

“We want to win a national championship or get as far as possible,” he stated. Many people believe that large wins are unattainable at Providence, but when we get there, we’re going to dispel that notion. After I graduate from Providence, my goal is to play in the NBA. I’m just not pushing anything and will have faith in Kim’s and the process’s timeline. anything might take a year or two.”
