Impact Analysis -- DE Mariyon Dye

Another significant acquisition for Tennessee.

For Tennessee football, it’s another important commitment on another day. On Friday afternoon, Indiana’s Mariyon Dye, a four-star edge rusher, decided on the Volunteers. Dye used X to make his announcement.

In the 2025 class, the 6-5, 270-pound prospect is ranked 150th nationally by the 247Sports Composite rankings. Dye is the third-ranked player in the state of Indiana and the fourteenth-ranked edge rusher overall in the class.

Another recruit recently returned from an official visit to Tennessee is Dye. After spending the previous weekend in Knoxville, he pledged to the Volunteers a few days later. In addition, Dye paid formal visits to Purdue, Ohio State, Miami, and Michigan. Among his other offers were from LSU, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Florida State.

Dye will probably slot in as a strongside defensive end whenever he gets to Knoxville because of his size.

With Dye’s dedication, the Volunteers shot up to No. 10 in the rankings. Tennessee has committed 16 people in all after a hectic few weeks on the road. On the 2025 defensive line class, Dye joins three-star talent Charles House and four-star prospect Ethan Utley.

Over Tennessee, Da’Saahn Brame Chooses the Oregon Ducks.

4 star tight end Da’Saahn Brame, who is seen by some in the industry as a Tennessee lean, has committed to the University of Oregon. Despite their decision on Saturday, the Vols will probably still pursue their recruiting of Kansas’ extremely gifted tight end.

In their 2025 recruiting cycle, the Volunteers have fifteen commits thus far, and several of their main targets are still available. Westlake High School wide receiver Travis Smith, Toombs County safety Lagonza Hayward, Providence Day School offensive tackle David Sanders Jr., and other players are expected to make decisions shortly.
