Former Ohio State Buckeye quarterback Quinn Ewers, quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, discusses the team’s September game versus Michigan football.

The Michigan football team’s 2022–2023 non-conference schedule drew a lot of criticism. The Wolverines have one of the hardest schedules in all of college football, so it will be difficult to make the same case in 2024.

Michigan football will play two of the four playoff teams. Texas, which fell to Washington in the semifinals, will visit Ann Arbor on September 7th, and the Wolverines will play a conference game versus Washington in a rematch of the national championship game.

Texas football and Michigan football are scheduled to play on Big Noon Kickoff. Two of the three cover stars for EA Sports’ “College Football 25” will also appear on it. Quinn Ewers of Texas and Travis Hunter of Colorado are among the athletes on the cover, which also features Michigan football running back Donovan Edwards.

Like the Alabama-Texas game from 2023, Ewers and the Longhorns will travel to Ann Arbor for a crucial non-conference match. Colston Loveland is the lone returning starter for Michigan, meaning the offense will be starting from over with a new quarterback in most cases.

But Michigan should be quite pissed off, especially considering that they have what most consider to be one of the top college football defenses. Ewers, who was a member of the Ohio State team in 2021 when the Wolverines defeated Ohio State 42–27 to snap their losing run, stated at the Manning Passing Camp, “It’ll be my second time up there, so I’m excited to get back up there.” “Defending champions, there will be a lot of people and a great atmosphere.” It is going to be enjoyable.

Aware of the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry, Ewers added, the Michigan football game against Texas will “mean a lot.”

“Every year, the Red River game is one of my favorites,” Ewers remarked. These are all intense, just like any rivalry game. For every show and its audience, they all hold great significance. Being a part of such games is awesome, especially for someone from Ohio State. I recognize that rivalry. Going up there will have significant meaning.

Hopefully, Ewers’s journey proceeds as smoothly as his previous one and his squad departs Michigan Stadium with a defeat.
