Marcus Stroman contract: Righthander signs three-year deal with Cubs - Sports Illustrated

Pitcher Marcus Stroman of the New York Yankees lost his cool on Friday during his most recent outing against the Toronto Blue Jays.

At Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada, Stroman loaded the bases to begin the bottom of the fifth inning with the score knotted at one.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., a star player for the Blue Jays, coaxed a ground ball from Stroman that appeared to set up a double play. Guerrero was doubled up by Gleyber Torres of the Yankees, but the throw to first base was too late.

The fact that Torres waited so long to release his throw to first infuriated Stroman. With the play, the Blue Jays led 2-1 and had a 3-1 lead at the end of the inning.

“F-ck! Please toss the f—ing ball! Following the force out, Stroman seemed to say.

But the Yankees bats came alive after Stroman’s explosion. Torres’ two-run home drive was one of six runs that the Bronx Bombers scored in the top of the sixth inning. After the explosion, Stroman made sure to congratulate his teammate.

The Yankees’ offense dominated the rest of the game to win 16–5.

In a post on X following the game, Stroman expressed regret for losing his composure.

“Today, the squad lost its mind.” Would adore to see it. The game involves raw emotion and passion, according to Stroman. “When you care truly, your frustrations surface. I’m to blame for losing my composure. I must improve. I genuinely adore our team, and I’ll always give it my all for my brothers. Moving on to the next!

This season, Stroman has made 17 starts and has a 3.29 ERA, improving his record to 7-3.
