Entering his second season, quarterback Will Levis is expected to do big things by the Tennessee Titans. In an effort to provide the former Kentucky star quarterback with as many weapons as possible, they have already added some firepower to surround their franchise quarterback.

Treylon Burks, a young wide receiver with the Titans, looks to be out of the picture for the Levis era. Based on his appearance, Burks might not be on the team when the next season starts.

News from the Tennessee Titans: Is Treylon Burks’ Time Up?

In his first two seasons in Tennessee, Burks has not left an impression, according to NFL analyst Aaron Schatz of ESPN. When the former Arkansas standout was selected by the Titans with the 18th overall choice in the 2022 NFL Draft, there were big expectations for him, and it’s difficult to argue that the young wide receiver has fallen short of those high standards.

It seems like Burks’s time is running out at this point:

Burks has obviously outstayed his welcome in Tennessee following two underwhelming seasons. The coaches are discussing whether Burks needs to play special teams in order to secure his job on the roster after the former first-round choice had just 16 receptions for 221 yards last season without any touchdowns. Since he currently ranks fifth on the depth chart, the Titans would be better off sending him to a another team so he can start over and earn some draft capital for 2025, Schatz said.

Burks, who hasn’t been able to settle down with the Titans, would likely benefit greatly from a fresh start. Given that the 24-year-old still has a lot of potential, several teams may be interested in hiring him.

Simply said, it doesn’t seem like this promise will be realized in Tennessee with Levis.
