Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham made light of Giants supporters during his speech at an event on Monday. Giants supporters have stated that they are okay with star running back Saquon Barkley leaving New York to sign with Philadelphia in free agency.

Regarding the incident, Graham reportedly added, “We know that people are p—-d about it,” according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. “They’re hoping for no results. I am aware of the extent of certain people’s ire.”

It appeared that the Giants were not interested in securing Barkley’s future with a long-term contract that suited him before allowing him to go unrestricted. He committed to a three-year, $37.75 million deal potentially up to $46.75 million, with $26 million fully guaranteed, to play for the Eagles, who have made it to the postseason six times in the previous seven years. In his six professional seasons, Barkley appeared in just two postseason games with the Giants. Graham stated that Barkley “is definitely in a good place right now.” Barkley was selected in the first round of the 2018 draft.

With regard to Philadelphia’s offseason acquisition, Graham stated, “It sucked for the Giants fans because that’s like us losing our top guy.” “I understand business is business, but I know Saquon definitely is looking forward to this season.”

Emory Hunt, an NFL analyst for CBS Sports, said last week that the Eagles “will have the best record in the NFC” and “win 13 or 14 games” this season, partly because of what Barkley would provide to the team’s offensive line. After the 2023 Eagles went from 10-1 to 11-6 before losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round of the playoffs, Graham expressed his excitement about what’s to come.

“I don’t want to predict nothing, but I know we do have a good squad and I’m expecting big things,” Graham said.

Barkley will make his MetLife Stadium comeback on October 20 when the Eagles host the Giants in Week 7. Graham hopes that he and Barkley, along with their teammates, will have the last laugh that Sunday afternoon, but he believes Barkley being jeered in East Rutherford would be “be one of those things.”
