ESPN news: Former Iowa star Caitlin Clark faces another heartbreaking trouble……..
When we misuse the term, we dehumanize actual racism.
With her stunning display of college basketball, Caitlin Clark helped ABC and ESPN reach a record-breaking 24 million viewers for the national championship match between South Carolina and Iowa.
Even though I had never watched a women’s championship before, I was one of the watchers.
The men’s basketball championship game, which only attracted 14.82 million viewers, was outnumbered by the crowd. Women’s basketball has never sparked such enthusiasm.
In actuality, tickets for the women’s championship cost more than those for the men.
Clark has now assisted the WNBA Indiana Fever in breaking attendance records for the team. The Fever had 81,336 fans in attendance at home games in 2023. Just five of the 2024 season’s games have been attended by 82,857 people.
The growing interest in and popularity of women’s sports is thrilling to most of us. Pardon the pun, but we should be grateful that Clark has assisted in moving the ball forward on that front.
Clark was expected to make an early and substantial contribution to the league that went beyond viewership.
But now that reality has set in, her stats are, to put it mildly, underwhelming.
In just 33 minutes of play a game, Clark is averaging 15.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and an alarming 5.4 turnovers. She has the most turnovers in the league.
In contrast, Ogunbowale of Dallas, Wilson of Las Vegas, and Copper of Phoenix average 26.6, 26.5, and 22.9 points per game, respectively. Clark is ranked 44th in the league and doesn’t rank in the top 5 in either rebounding or 3-pointers, where she is shooting less than 30%.
Teams are defending Clark with extreme caution. She is being double-teamed. putting pressure on her. making things challenging. speaking filthy. At the conclusion of a play, one player even shoved Clark.
At that point, millions of fans rushed to social media to voice their opinions, believing that bigotry against Clark’s whiteness was the only reason for her subpar performance on the court.
Clay Travis, a golfer, wasn’t afraid to blame race for Clark’s problems.
In a league where lesbians and people of color make up the majority, Caitlin Clark is White and straight. I warned you that this would be a problem, and now it seems like everyone is recognizing it. Because Caitlin Clark is White, straight, and suddenly wealthy and attracting a lot of attention, she is disliked by most WNBA players. That is the subject of a lot of animosity.
As Fox News Radio added to their commentary:
“Because Caitlin Clark is a minority, they are discrediting her.”
Megyn Kelly said, “Caitlin Clark is revolutionizing the WNBA, so why is she getting so much blow back?” on her Facebook page. Many of the roughly two million responses accused the other of reverse racism.

Bullshit, in my opinion.
It is offensive to use accusations of “racism” as an explanation for Clark’s performance or the tight D that was used against her, especially because the majority of these people never speak out against the systematic racism that Black people face in America. Each and every day.
Has anyone in Clark’s camp who advocatesd for racism ever supported affordable housing? Did they ever take a stand against institutional racism in the policing, school, and health care systems?
