Stephen A. Smith Angry Response When asked if Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are being used to instigate “race wars,”
Stephen A. Smith rejects the notion that the discussion around Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese is solely focused on racial issues.
The Stephen A. Smith Show recently featured Smith answering several inquiries from followers on social media. In response to a fan’s question about whether he thought the two WNBA rookies were being exploited to “create race wars,” Smith first conceded that some people would have that opinion but then refuted it.
He responded, “I don’t think so, but that’s a valid question.” Would it be almost as enticing if two White girls or two Black girls were fighting? No, in my opinion. You can talk about race, but the truth is that until Caitlin Clark started pounding everyone’s ass and putting her hand in their faces in that manner, there wasn’t really any sort of battle per se. and after that, Angel Reese beat her with LSU in the NCAA tournament. And for that reason, Angel Reese has achieved this degree of fame.
Smith mentioned their contrasts in personality as well. Clark stated that Reese is a “proud Black woman who doesn’t run from any noise,” but he “tries to avoid controversies.”
You may mention race. Styles, I believe,” Smith went on. “I believe that Caitlin Clark’s battles would be received more positively if she were as vocal as Angel Reese and they both played the same position, but Caitlin Clark is a guard and Angel Reese is a forward. They play in a very different way. Because Caitlin Clark can pull up from the logo, she actually plays with more flare in her game. Even though Angel Reese isn’t a player, she can be rough and tumble. She is capable of finishing it. I think she will play in the WNBA for a very long time.
