Noticias de ESPN: Rafael Nadal conversa con Carlos Alcaraz sobre una posición “complicada” y comparte su “objetivo final”.
Rafael Nadal has stated that winning a medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris is now his primary aim, but he has acknowledged he is unsure about his pre-tournament plans with Carlos Alcaraz.
The legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal is attempting to win three gold medals at the Olympics. He won gold in the singles competition in Beijing in 2008 and in the doubles competition in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 with Marc Lopez.
The 22-time Grand Slam winner used his protected status to enter the Olympics despite early questions about his participation due to injury struggles and a decline in the rankings.
He’s joined the Sweden Open as a warm-up and will only play in the doubles for Spain with emerging sensation Alcaraz.
As it stands, he will just participate in Bastad’s singles.
“I’m working out to try to get ready for dating. “I aim to perform at a superior level in singles, and I am confident that achieving that goal will enable me to play well in doubles,” he stated to L’Equipe.
I’ve always performed well in doubles matches when I’ve performed well in singles. It is true that I haven’t played doubles in a while. Winning a tournament beforehand would have been great, but it wasn’t feasible.
“I believe it would be interesting to train together the week before the Olympic tournament if Carlos is available and I’m physically fit.
Olympic competition is a team sport. Singles are not nearly as significant as doubles. This is your chance to try and take home a medal. That is the ultimate objective.
