ESPN news: Caitlin Clarks’ reponse on the women’s basketball Team USA’s snubs.
The talk of the town is all about how Caitlin Clark was left off the roster, which we found out on Saturday, even though the women’s basketball Team USA squad won’t get to start their quest for another gold medal in the Olympics until late July.
Although only 12 players can be selected for the squad, many anticipated that Clark, a rising star with the Reeve potential to be among the team’s top scorers, would be included by head coach . However, it is not what actually occurred, as other experienced veterans were given preference over the youngster.
Clark, however, doesn’t appear to be affected or even slightly troubled by the choice, while everyone else is finding it difficult to accept. When questioned about her exclusion from Team USA, she responded as follows.
To be honest, I’m not disappointed. It really gives you something to strive for, in my opinion,” Clark said to reporters on Sunday. “It’s a dream; maybe I’ll get to go there someday.” It’s just a bit more motivation, in my opinion. You keep it in mind, and maybe I can be there when that four-year period rolls around in four years.
Although some may disagree with the choice, Clark recognizes that it’s a numbers game and that many other talented sportsmen have also earned their place justly. She’s only 22, therefore it should be easy for her to make the roster for the upcoming Olympic women’s basketball team.
