On Saturday, Owasso, Oklahoma’s Blake Cherry, a 3-star offensive lineman, committed to Arkansas.

Before departing Fayetteville for Junior Day in Arkansas on January 20, Cherry received an offer.

Cherry, a 6-6, 280-pound player, turned down offers from other teams, including Texas A&M, TCU, Kansas State, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and Texas Tech, to enroll with the Razorbacks.

He is ranked No. 55 in his class among interior offensive linemen by On3.com.

Cherry intends to spend the weekend of June 14–16 in Arkansas for his formal visit.

He is the seventh athlete to pledge to Arkansas in the class of 2025. Athlete Quentin Murphy of Little Rock Parkview made a commitment to the Razorbacks earlier on Saturday.

The Razorbacks currently have eight commitments after adding their seventh just hours ago after acquiring an offensive lineman on Saturday.

Owasso, Oklahoma, offensive tackle Blake Cherry announced his college decision on Saturday afternoon, giving Arkansas its eighth football commitment for the Class of 2025.

Despite offers from Texas A&M, Nebraska, Minnesota, Arizona State, Kansas State, Boston College, Kansas, and other universities, Cherry, 6-5, 295, decided to enroll at the Hogs. He joins Little Rock, Arkansas’s Parkview three-star athlete Quentin Murphy, who announced his decision at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, as the second pledge of the day for Arkansas.

Cherry, who is currently unranked by 247Sports, visited Fayetteville on an unofficial basis in late January and is anticipated to use his official visit on The Hill the following weekend, June 14–16.

Arkansas has six verbal commitments in Maumelle, Arkansas, going into the day as the 53rd-ranked recruiting class in the country for the 2025 cycle. The Heart of Arkansas Christian quarterback Grayson Wilson of Atlanta (Texas) and West Palm Beach (Fla.) running back Markeylin Batton Mobile (Ala.) Williamson safety Taijh Overton, Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff linebacker Jayden Shelton, Palm Beach Central wide receiver Kamare Williams, and Bay St. Louis (Miss.) St. Stanislaus kicker Evan Noel.

With Murphy joining the team, the Hogs are now ranked 45th in the country. We’ll have to wait to see how much stronger Arkansas can get over the weekend until we see Cherry’s ranking.

Eric Mateos, the offensive line coach in his first year, lured him to Fayetteville.

Normally, college football teams have between 15 and 17 offensive lineman, so Arkansas’s 13 offensive linemen are a little undermanned. Brady Latham signed a free agent contract and did not return as a super senior. Beaux Limmer did not return as a super senior, and he was selected in the NFL Draft. Eli Henderson and Terry Wells are on medical leave, and Cole Carson is graduating early. After quitting the team, Andrew Chamblee accessed the portal. Kai Greer de-committed, and redshirt junior Devon Manuel, Joey Su’a, and Paris Patterson also logged into the transfer site. The Razorbacks will probably try to add another player after adding four through the transfer portal.

Four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace of Jesup, Georgia, Wayne County; four-star wide receiver/athlete Kelshaun Johnson of Hitchcock, Texas; four-star defensive lineman Kevin Oatis of Hattisburg, Mississippi; three-star offensive lineman Connor Howes of St. Cloud, Florida; three-star interior offensive lineman Logan Schram of Boerne, Texas; three-star wide receiver Bryson Jones of Frisco, Texas, Lone Star; three-star offensive lineman Austin Pay of American Fork, Utah, Lone Peak; three-star defensive lineman Xavier Ukponu of Denton, Texas, Guyer; and three-star safety Taijh Overton of Mobile, Alabama, Williamson are the 12 official visitors currently scheduled to visit Arkansas this weekend.

More information about Cherry’s choice and how it affects the Razorbacks’ roster going forward will be provided via HawgSports.
