Breaking: Texas top man and fans favorite has committed to Arkansas in a blockbuster deal.
More than ten prospects are anticipated to visit the University of Arkansas, including a quick receiver who, because of his connection to receivers coach Ronnie Fouch, will be visiting Fayetteville for the first time.
The Hogs received an official visit from Fouch because of his interactions with 4-star prospect Kelshaun Johnson, who was the consensus choice, and his visit to the school during the spring evaluation process.
Johnson added, “He talked to me about football and his travels.” “I just really want to go and see what he’s all about.”
Scholarship offers from Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Southern Cal, Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Auburn, Penn State, Oregon, TCU, and other universities have been extended to Johnson, a 5-11, 160-pound resident of Hitchcock, Texas.
He stated that while Fouch has taught him about the Arkansas offense, he still wants to see the team in greater detail while he is there.
Johnson stated, “I just want to go up there and have him show me. I want to sit down in his office and see how he would use me both inside and outside.”
Johnson is ranked as the No. 7 athlete in the country by 247Sports thanks to his ability to set plays and his sophomore 100-meter record time of 10.49 seconds.
He had hamstring problems this spring, so he didn’t run track.
The No. 192 overall recruit in the US, Johnson, stated, “I would have ran a 10.3 this year.” “It would’ve been something special.”
Fouch spent four seasons as a player at Missouri State before formally joining the Arkansas staff on January 8. He had previously worked at Missouri State and Louisville alongside Bobby Petrino, the offensive coordinator for the Razorbacks.
In February, Johnson revealed the following 10 places: Arkansas, Texas, Southern California, Texas Tech, Penn State, Texas A&M, Florida, Kansas, TCU, and Tennessee.
In a short amount of time, Fouch managed to place the Hogs on Johnson’s top-10 list and earn a visit.
Johnson remarked, “He was just telling me it’s a good place.” “He said he just needs to get me there so I can see it for myself.”
Johnson is anticipated to travel to Fayetteville with his mother and sister. Fouch has put a lot of effort into fostering ties with Johnson and his mother.
He spoke with Johnson’s mother. “He’s merely checking to see whether I’m okay. In addition to wanting my mother to reciprocate, he wants my trust. as in the event that I visit there. I’ll be alright.
Johnson added that Fouch is well-liked by his mother.
Johnson declared, “He’s a good guy.” “He coached Lamar Jackson, I know that. He informed me that he was in Louisville. My mother thinks well of him and is eager to visit.”
Johnson stated that he will choose his college before his senior year. He also stated that he will formally visit Texas A&M, Texas, and Southern California following Arkansas.
Johnson is thinking in becoming a sports agent after football. Johnson stated he anticipates his mother would be concentrating on her studies during their official trips.
“She probably wants to see the education opportunities,” he stated. “She wants to see me graduate and finish school.”
