Left-hander A.J. Minter was added to the 15-day disabled list by the Atlanta Braves, who suffered yet another blow to their ailing roster. There is irritation in the reliever’s left hip.
In his final appearance, Minter pitched a scoreless inning on Wednesday night against the Washington Nationals. He hasn’t been as productive as he was the previous season, but he has nonetheless achieved some encouraging outcomes. Though Atlanta currently has two southpaws in the bullpen, his departure will be felt severely.
Having the right hand Atlanta received a recall of Jimmy Herget. Herget has seen a lot of movement this season; on Wednesday, he was optioned to Gwinnett. He now comes back to take Minter’s position, who is injured.
After being outrighted, infielder Joey Wendle elected free agency, the Braves announced in the last flurry of roster movements.
On Tuesday, Ronald Acuña Jr. will have surgery to repair his ACL. Doctor Neal ElAttrache, who did his operation in 2021, will carry out his procedure.
