Exclusive: Burnley and Birmingham get in touch over West Brom Seior man Deal…

Carlos Corberan Profile

Football Insider has been informed by sources that Burnley and Birmingham City have received communication from the agents of West Brom manager Carlos Corberan regarding their open managerial posts.

Following his leadership of the Baggies to the Championship play-offs, Corberan has been connected to other positions in recent months.

The Spaniard is reportedly eager to quit West Brom this summer after encountering many difficulties at The Hawthorns.

Tony Mowbray just resigned from Birmingham due to health concerns, and Burnley is searching for a new manager to take over for Vincent Kompany, who was recently named the new Bayern Munich manager.

Corberan and Albion agreed to a contract extension last year, extending Corberan’s tenure until 2027.

Carlos Corberan, manager of West Brom, could be appointed by Birmingham.
The 41-year-old led West Brom to a fifth-place Championship result, capping an impressive first full season in command of the team.

The eventual victors Southampton defeated the Baggies 3-1 in the semi-finals, sending them sailing out of the play-offs.

The Spanish manager, who has managed Huddersfield Town, Olympiacos, and the Cypriot teams Doxa and Ermis, has a 39.1% victory percentage.

Burnley, who was recently demoted, and Birmingham, two rivals in the West Midlands, have taken notice of Corberan’s efforts at West Brom.

Since Mowbray resigned, a number of managers have been linked to the Birmingham position. On May 27, Football Insider disclosed that the League One team had spoken with Alex Neil regarding taking over at St Andrew’s the following season.

After Burnley’s relegation to the Championship, Corberan joined Bayern, and Burnley is considering a transfer for him as well.

Jude Bellingham: From the Birmingham City to the final of the UEFA Champions League

Bellingham began playing for Birmingham City
After his impressive accomplishments at Real Madrid, he is currently considered as one of the world’s top football players.
This weekend, the young player will compete in his first-ever Champions League final.

Before he is twenty-one, he is already the best player in Madrid, the best player in Spain, and perhaps the finest player in the world.

Yes, we are talking about Jude Bellingham, the football player who looks like he was brought here from another planet to master the beautiful game and return home with the Ballon d’Or and the UEFA Champions League trophy in his bags.

Actually, he’s from Birmingham, specifically the home of Birmingham City Football Club. A team that has only ever won two major titles and is regarded as the second-biggest in its own city.

So how did a club like that nurture Real Madrid’s new Galaticos era leader?

young professional life
Bellingham’s football career started at Stourbridge Juniors, a team his father Mark founded. Bellingham was born and reared in Stourbridge, a small town outside of Birmingham. But it didn’t take long for his childhood team, Birmingham City, to come calling; at the age of eight, academy scouts saw his potential and signed him.

As you may probably expect from the fact that he’s now 20 years old and on the Real Madrid team, Bellingham advanced quickly through the Birmingham City junior system. After making his debut for the under-18s at the age of 14, he quickly advanced to the under-23s at the age of 15, even scoring the game-winning goal against Nottingham Forest during that phase.

City of Birmingham
As expected, at the age of 16 years and 38 days, Bellingham made his senior football debut in an EFL Cup first-round loss to Portsmouth following his integration into the first-team setup during the preseason.

modest beginnings, to put it mildly.

Ex-Portsmouth player Gareth Evans commented to Sun Sport about witnessing Bellingham’s debut from the sidelines: “We were getting ready for a Carabao Cup first-round game and there was a tremendous buzz surrounding some 16-year-old youngster who was making his first appearance for Birmingham City that night.

“Boss Kenny Jackett said in our team meeting, ‘He’s quick, nimble, has lightning-fast feet, and he can choose a pass.’ Am I right?

“I felt that everything was a little excessive, but from the bench, I had the ideal perspective of this kid’s personality. Five minutes in, I had had enough. It was evident that he would be something special.”

Bellingham became the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer 25 days after becoming its youngest-ever player when he scored the game-winning goal against Stoke City in the Championship. Yes, even at sixteen, he could pull it off on a chilly, wet day in Stoke.

With his remarkable performances, the midfielder won the EFL Young Player of the Season title and went on to play 41 Championship games in his debut season, solidifying his spot in Birmingham City’s starting lineup.

As anticipated, some of the biggest clubs in Europe started to take notice of such outings.
