Done deal: Cardinals land in another mega star in a blockbuster deal on a four year contract.
Dadrion “Rabbit” Taylor-Demerson, a rookie safety, was signed by the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday to a four-year contract.
The day before, Arizona signed defensive lineman Darius Robinson, a first-round pick, to a rookie contract.
In the 2024 NFL Draft, Taylor-Demerson was selected by the club in the fourth round (at choice No. 104 overall) this past April.
The 197-pound, 5-foot-10 player attended Texas Tech for the previous five years. In those sixty games, he amassed 242 tackles, two sacks, nine for loss, 10 interceptions, 22 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two quarterback hits.
After his finest season at Texas Tech, the safety is returning. Taylor-Demerson finished with a career-high four interceptions, seven passes defensed, and 75 tackles in 14 games played (13 starts).
He had an outstanding performance at the 2024 NFL Draft Combine, capping off his final year at Texas Tech with a 40-yard sprint time of 4.41 seconds and a 38-inch vertical.
Now leading the group are seasoned players Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson, together with the promising defensive back.
Which rookie for the Cardinals has not yet signed a contract?
Now that Taylor-Demerson has signed a contract, eleven of the Cardinals’ twelve draft selections have made their rookie agreements.

Trey Benson, a former Florida State running back selected in the third round, is the only rookie who has not yet signed a contract.
Other than a select group of players like Budda Baker, James Conner, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Kyler Murray, not many well-known players play for the Arizona Cardinals. Fans who are not Cardinals supporters may not know much about Arizona outside of this group. If the Cardinals perform well on the field and make an impression the next season, that might easily alter in 2024.
Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus has developed a list of interior defenders for the 2024 season. Pro Football Focus has started releasing position rankings lists lately. Defensive tackle Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs has taken the top slot after Rams legend Aaron Donald retired this past offseason. Dexter Lawrence of the New York Giants and Quinnen Williams of the New York Jets are the next in line.
Monson used four NFC West defensive linemen, none of whom were from the Cardinals, on this. Byron Murphy II (No. 25), Leonard Williams (No. 17), Kobie Turner (No. 16), and Javon Hargrave (No. 7) were all listed on this list. Murphy was, in fact, the only rookie on this list, which makes sense considering how well regarded he is as an NFL player.
Although it is unexpected to see a rookie on this list since they haven’t played a snap in the NFL, Harrison Jr., the rookie wide receiver for the Cardinals, is gaining respect from players throughout the league and is a top receiving option this season, so it does provide some balance.
The absence of a Cardinals player from this list should come as no surprise. Arizona’s run defense was among the worst in the previous season, and they will have a lot of work to do in 2024. Although signing veterans Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols is a positive step forward, Monti Ossenfort’s current roster isn’t very impressive.
