By selecting LSU star Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in this year’s draft, the New York Giants significantly improved their wide receiver position. The Giants’ wide receiving group as a whole still lacks playmakers, even after acquiring perhaps the best receiver in the class.

In order to offer quarterback Daniel Jones more reliable targets to throw to, the team may still try to sign wide receivers. Treylon Burks, a Tennessee Titans wide receiver and former first-round draft pick, was recommended by Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine as a low-cost option to support the Giants’ offense in the upcoming campaign.

The Giants are hoping a lot of their young players will succeed this season. Burks’ addition would give them another viable body type in the space. The former Razorback is significantly larger than players like Wan’Dale Robinson (5’8″, 185) and Jalin Hyatt (6’0″, 185) at 6’2″, 225 pounds, according to Ballentine.

Ballentine suggested that Burks be acquired by the Giants in return for a 2025 sixth-round pick. This was a modest and fair transaction for a player who was expected to be New York’s third or fourth best receiver.

What qualities might Treylon Burks provide Big Blue?

During his first two years with the Titans, the team has underperformed, and Burks has found it difficult to make a significant effect. In 2023, he only caught 16 receptions on 30 targets, and he only has one score in his career. With a new coach and a young quarterback, he might have a more defined role in Tennessee, but the Giants have far more room to use him consistently.

After Parris Campbell’s signing last summer didn’t go as planned and the squad as a whole had subpar offensive production for most of the season, adding him may provide the Giants a much more dependable third option in the offense.

Though there hasn’t been any indication in the markets that the Titans are prepared to trade Burks, keep an eye out for New York to make some calls to expand the wide receiver room as training camp approaches in less than two months.
