In addition to returning an interception of former Buffalo Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel 80 yards for a touchdown, he also added a 45-yard fumble return against the Indianapolis Colts to his defensive touchdown total.
In addition, he scored three touchdowns on offense while playing goal line tight end, as if that wasn’t enough. Those touchdowns occurred against Oakland, Cleveland, and Tennessee in Weeks 2, 11, and 13, respectively.
He was the only player, regardless of position, to score at least three offensive touchdowns and two defensive touchdowns in the same season since 1948. He also became the first defensive lineman to score five touchdowns in a single season since 1944.

An echo chamber of Watt stories sprung onto the internet when this juicy bit of news initially surfaced. While some just present the facts, others use clickbait to mislead readers into believing Watt would return soon.
The actual sense would be to have Watt return to the squad come playoff time. There’s no assurance that the 2024 Watt will resemble the model from 2014. The likelihood is that he won’t. But his presence in the locker room and on the field will be beneficial in a number of ways.
It will serve as a boost of inspiration for the remaining players just when they need it most.
With Watt’s years of experience and insight at their disposal, the remaining players will have a virtual “coach on the field” when they need it most.
It will help ease the playoff anxiety that many young players experience when they participate in the postseason for the first time.
As offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik and head coach Demeco Ryans use that diversion to disguise their objectives with other players like Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, it will undoubtedly frighten the opponents, who won’t have the luxury of ignoring Watt.
