On Thursday, former Arkansas running back Isaiah Augustave revealed his verbal commitment to Colorado, giving the Buffs another noteworthy addition.

Augustave is a native of Naples, Florida, and has three more years of eligibility remaining. According to his bio on Arkansas’ website, he was a four-star recruit out of high school and ranked sixth among running backs in the 2023 class. During his final two years of high school, Augustave amassed over 2,000 yards and nearly thirty touchdowns through running (27).

Then, Augustave didn’t play a big role in his one season with the Razorbacks. He only started one game last season but ran for 202 yards and one touchdown in 11 games. Finished fifth on the team in terms of total rushes and yards during the season.

Augustave will join a running back room for the Buffs that has experienced the most transformation of any group save the offensive lineman. Augustave, Micah Welch and Brandon Hood, two true freshman, and Ohio State transfer Dallan Hayden will all be at CU come autumn.

Isaiah Augustave, a former Arkansas running back, revealed on social media on Thursday afternoon that he is transferring to Colorado. In his past two games for the Razorbacks, he has rushed for a total of 181 yards. In 11 games as a true freshman in 2023, Augustave, who stands 6 feet 2 inches and weighs 208 pounds, ran for 202 yards and scored one touchdown on 35 rushes. He also caught three passes for seven yards.

He was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week for his performance against Florida International on November 18, which resulted in a 44–20 victory. With 14 rushes for 101 yards, Augustave averaged 7.2 yards per yard. He ran 15 times for 80 yards and his lone touchdown in the season finale the following week. With three years of eligibility left, Augustave turned down offers from Florida State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Utah, and other schools in favor of Colorado. Dallan Hayden, an Ohio State transfer, Charlie Offerdahl, Brandon Hood, and Micah Welch make up the Buffaloes’ running back room.

Transfer Rashad Amos, who switched his selection to Ole Miss on May 18, gave Colorado the impression that he was committed. Amos attended Miami of Ohio (2020–22) and South Carolina (2020–22), where he ran for 1,075 yards and 13 touchdowns in the previous season. Augustave was a four-star prospect in the Class of 2023 out of Naples (Fla.) High School, where 247Sports ranked him as the No. 38 player in Florida and as one of the top-15 running backs in the nation as a senior.
