Official: Fans Favorite Athlete in the Class of 2024 , Commits to Arkansas
This Texas native made his decision public on Monday, and the Razorbacks added another wide receiver that seemed surprising.
Zachary Taylor of Yoakum, Texas, committed to Arkansas on Monday afternoon, making him the 13th scholarship wide receiver on the team for 2024. 6-4, 170 Taylor made his decision known to the public while in Fayetteville on a formal visit. On Tuesday, he will conclude his visit with the Razorbacks and wide receivers coach Ronnie Fouch.
Taylor signed with the Golden Knights in December 2023 after committing to Army in June of the same year. However, he was later freed from his National Letter of Intent and will attend the Hogs this summer without delay. The receiver claims running a 40-yard dash time of 4.48 and a 100-meter dash time of 10.44. At approximately noon, he made his announcement via X while posing inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium with Fouch.
Taylor was Yoakum’s quarterback, completing 90 out of 160 ball attempts for 1,376 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. In addition, he gained 342 yards and six touchdowns on 91 runs.
With the addition of Texas A&M transfer Jordan Anthony, USF transfer Khafre Brown, and 2024 signees Taylor, Krosse Johnson, and CJ Brown, the Razorbacks now have five new wide receivers in the mix since December.
Taylor’s signing means that Arkansas will have just two scholarships left to fill before the 2024 campaign. Kellen Francis of Butler Community College is another JUCO offensive line target that the Hogs are currently entertaining. On Tuesday, Francis—who is also the subject of courtship from South Carolina, Illinois, and Houston—will conclude his formal tour.
More on Taylor’s announcement and its implications for the 2024 Razorbacks will be provided by HawgSports in the near future. The most recent scholarship distribution for Trey Biddy’s wide receiver position is as follows:

Tyrone Broden, Andrew Armstrong, and Isaac TeSlaa are all returning as super seniors after receiving extra years. In 2024, both Davion Dozier and Dazmin James will be redshirt freshman because they only participated in three games each. In the spring, CJ Brown joined the team, and this summer, Krosse Johnson is anticipated to join as well. Through the transfer site, the Hogs have recruited Jordan Anthony, a transfer from Texas A&M, and Khafre Brown, a late addition from South Florida.
While Bryce Stephens, a redshirt sophomore, also registered on the transfer portal, he removed his information after a month and rejoined the team in the spring. After serving his NLI, Ashton Bethel-Roman was freed. For wide receivers on scholarships, twelve is a big number. There are probably two more than Arkansas needs.
