The veteran wide receiver is reportedly still not showing up to voluntary workouts in order to negotiate a new contract. Although everything has been voluntary up to this point, the 28-year-old is hoping for changes to his contract. Sutton’s camp and the organization have communicated politely, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want a new contract.
The real conjecture starts if he starts skipping camp, which would seem to be the best course of action for a veteran. Even while it doesn’t seem realistic that a deal will occur very soon, it is still possible. Though there was no agreement in place at the time, the Broncos were getting attention from clubs this NFL Draft. Given that the Broncos wish to keep the SMU product, this comes as a surprise.
