ESPN report: 2024 NBA Draft Lottery position of the kings and other clubs
The Atlanta Hawks were the winners of one of the least-expected NBA draft lotteries in recent memory.
The Hawks, who won the lottery on Sunday, will select first overall in the 2024 NBA Draft.
After entering the lottery with the tenth-best odds, Atlanta had a mere 3 percent chance of winning the first choice. The Hawks have won the lottery for the first time in the team’s existence. The Hawks had a 36-46 record last season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020 after losing in the play-in game.
The Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, and San Antonio Spurs completed the top four selections, trailing only the Hawks. The team with the greatest odds going into the lottery, the Detroit Pistons, slid to the fifth pick.
The following is where the Warriors and Kings selected:
Hawks of Atlanta
The Washington Wizards
Brooklyn Nets via Houston Rockets
Spurs of San Antonio
The Detroit Pistons
Hornets of Charlotte
Trail Blazers of Portland
Spurs of San Antonio (via Toronto Raptors)
The Memphis Grizzlies
Utah Jazz
The Chicago Bulls
OKC Thunder (via the Houston Rockets)
Sacramento Kings
Golden State Warriors -> Portland Trail Blazers
Who will be selected first in the NBA Draft in 2024? Which prospects are the best?
The San Antonio Spurs, winners of the lottery, had an obvious prize to look forward to last year. The unanimous choice of Victor Wembanyama as the best pick was confirmed when he was named Rookie of the Year.
In 2024, there won’t be the same level of certainty at the top of the draft, which will present the Hawks with an intriguing choice.
Three international players will be taken into consideration: Nikola Topic, a 6-foot-6 guard from Serbia, Alexandre Sarr, a 7-foot-1 big from France, and Zaccharie Risacher, a 6-foot-9 forward from France. Then there are the college standouts Rob Dillingham (Kentucky guard), Stephon Castle (UConn guard), Reed Sheppard (Kentucky guard), and Donovan Clingan (UConn center). Ron Holland, a 6-foot-8 forward, and Matas Buzelis, a 6-foot-11 forward, are two other players that could be included in the mix.
When is the NBA Draft in 2024?
The NBA will choose players over the course of two nights for the first time since the draft was reduced to two rounds by the league.
The first round is scheduled for June 26 on Wednesday and the second round for June 27 on Thursday.
Where is the NBA Draft in 2024?
The draft will be conducted in New York City on both days, however the locations of the events will change each night.
The Brooklyn Nets’ home arena, Barclays Center, will host the first round. Next, ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in Manhattan will host the second round.
