ESPN report: Looming Browns to Releases Their 2024 Schedule
At some point this month, the NFL is anticipated to release the schedules for each of the 32 teams.
Every off season, the NFL releases its yearly schedule, which has become a highlight event for fans who are planning their Sunday activities for the upcoming fall. The big unveiling for all 32 clubs and their devoted fan communities might occur at any moment after hinting at it last week.
The 11 opponents the Browns will face outside of the AFC North in the upcoming season have been known since the regular season concluded. The next step is to become familiar with the specifics of every game, such as how many prime-time matches Cleveland has scheduled for this autumn.
The Browns will have a tough schedule of opponents and quarterbacks to deal with the next season after making it to the playoffs. Before the 2024 schedule is released, there are a few more noteworthy elements that fans should be aware of.
Domestic Defendants
This year’s schedule of home games, which includes games against the Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and Kansas City Chiefs, is sure to delight season ticket holders. Some fans are merely hoping to be in the same proximity as pop sensation Taylor Swift, thus the Chiefs’ trip to Cleveland might wind up being the most sought-after ticket of the season. Oh, and the Chiefs, with players like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, are also the reigning Super Bowl champs.
In addition to the three teams in their division—Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Cincinnati—the Browns will also play the New York Giants.
Roadblockers
Browns supporters may also choose from a few quite unusual road excursions on the schedule. Cleveland will make its first trip to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders, followed by a second straight western trip to Denver. Visits to the New Orleans Saints, Washington Commanders, and Philadelphia Eagles are a few more road stops. The Browns’ trip schedule also includes the Jacksonville Jaguars, but there could be a catch.
Conversely, across the pond
The Browns have a strong chance of getting a break from the NFL as they were passed over for the Packers’ season opener versus the Eagles in São Paulo, Brazil—the NFL’s first-ever international game. Next season, the league will have three games in London, with one of those games being hosted by Jacksonville. The Browns showed a great deal of interest in playing in that Brazil game, so the NFL could simply schedule them to face the Jaguars in that game.
The London matches are expected to be revealed before the rest of the league releases the whole calendar for 2024. As of right now, no dates have been scheduled for any of the matches.
Absent for Week Two
Prior to the schedule announcement, bear in mind that the Browns will almost certainly be traveling that weekend owing to the Billy Joel and Rod Stewart concert at Cleveland Browns Stadium on September 13 (the Friday before Week 2). Cleveland is likely to start the season at home if that turns out to be the case.
Although it’s uncommon, teams have occasionally begun the season with back-to-back away games. On September 8, you might see a Bengal, Raven, or Steeler visit the city, as the league often schedules division games early in the season.
Spending Christmas with the Browns?
This year’s NFL schedule includes two midweek Christmas Day games, a new element. Although the league has previously invaded Christmas, this is the first time that the holiday has fallen on a Wednesday. Although the teams for the two games on that day have not been announced, Cleveland may be involved given none of the teams are scheduled to play on the holiday.
Beyond that, the Browns may still play in the Thanksgiving Day primetime game. The league’s Black Friday match, which was added to the calendar last year, might also.
Prime Time Video Games
A lot of talk is usually made about how many games a club will play during prime time. Generally speaking, it indicates how good your team should be expected to be. The number of night games the Browns will play in 2019 is certainly still up in the air, although last season they did play in two of them. One was a Monday night game against the Steelers, and the other was a Thursday night game against the Jets in late December.
