The team is in communication with Costa Mesa, California’s city.

The Las Vegas Raiders have hosted training camp at the team’s Henderson facilities ever since relocating to Southern Nevada. However, as reported on Sunday by Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Raiders are in talks with the City of Costa Mesa and may return to California for camp this summer.

According to Bonsignore, “the club is in talks with the city of Costa Mesa about using the Jack Hammett Sports Complex for this summer’s camp.” The potential of signing a one-year contract with the Raiders is something that the Costa Mesa City Council will talk about on Tuesday. The council also seems to be getting ready to host the NFL team.

As per the arrangement, the Raiders would give Costa Mesa $165,000 in rent. Additionally, they would send outdoor weight training equipment to Costa Mesa High School, organize a team training camp for children ages 6 to 12, and spend $600,000 for field renovations at the sports complex. Additionally, they would give 100 tickets for local schoolchildren to attend an NFL game in Southern California. They would also give a local youth sports team $10,000.

The Los Angeles Chargers had their training camp at Jack Hammett Sports Complex in the past. The Raiders will be using the Costa Mesa facility while the Chargers, who are set to camp out in El Segundo this season, have finished building their new headquarters.

Additionally, Bonsignore brought up the fact that five teams would be practicing within 100 miles of one another should Costa Mesa approve the pact. The Dallas Cowboys are based in Oxnard, the Los Angeles Rams are anticipated to reveal their Southern California location soon, and the New Orleans Saints will be located in Irvine. Naturally, the Chargers will also be in the vicinity.

The good news for all SoCal Raider supporters is that the public is welcome to watch practice. Therefore, pay attention to Tuesday’s vote results.

Will the Raiders make their way back to the South Bay?

The Raiders of Las Vegas are thinking of relocating to Southern California, but this time as the site of their NFL training camp rather than as their permanent residence.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Silver & Black, who lived in Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994, are in talks with the ç in Costa Mesa to use their summer training camp there in 2024.

We will be happy to see the Raiders return to Southern California.

The Raiders’ intention to relocate their training camp to Orange County suggests that the team’s management wants to change how camp is run. The Raiders have hosted training camp at their Henderson headquarters and training facility since 2020, when the team made the permanent relocation to Las Vegas.

According to a news release, Costa Mesa City Manager Lori Ann Farrell Harrison stated, “Costa Mesa is proud to be one of only two cities in the country to host an NFL team’s summer training camp in a publicly owned facility.” “We are thrilled that there may be a new NFL team training here; Jack Hammett is a treasure.”

The Los Angeles Chargers have been holding their training camp at the Jack Hammett Sports Complex since 2017. However, the team is scheduled to relocate to their new, opulent headquarters in El Segundo, where their training camp will now be held.

The Raiders have not yet made a public statement regarding the relocation, but it makes sense given how passionate Raiders fans are in Southern California. When the teams play at SoFi Stadium, Raider Nation typically draws a larger crowd than Chargers supporters, and 20% of PSL and season ticket holders in Las Vegas are thought to be from Southern California.

According to the city, the Raiders will allegedly pay $165,000 in facility rent as well as another $600,000 for facility enhancements as part of the proposed agreement. The Raiders will also donate $10,000 to local youth sports, set up a training camp for kids between the ages of 16 and 12, and buy 100 tickets for kids in Southern California to visit nearby NFL games. They will also give a new mobile recreation van to underprivileged neighborhoods and gift equipment to Costa Mesa High School.

The decision makes sense because Southern California has a robust and devoted fan base, and Raider Nation fans in the region can go to camp to support their team. Additionally, it still attracts a base of followers who reside 4-5 hours’ drive from Las Vegas.

Mayor John Stephens declared, “The Raiders and Costa Mesa share a commitment to excellence, and our partnership will greatly benefit the community.”

Raider Nation’s center will be back in Southern California, if only for a few weeks.
