Davante Adams does not sound happy about being on Raiders

Even elite NFL players occasionally give up to another player’s dominance.

This was the situation with Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, who was contested early in his career by some of the top corners in the league.

He acknowledged that it doesn’t happen as frequently, but certain players still give him trouble. Given that they enable him to elevate his game, Adams enjoys treating those players with affection and respect.

In the most recent installment of his podcast, “The Rush with Maxx Crosby,” Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby asked Adams to list three guys who had given him trouble. Three cornerbacks were mentioned by the six-time Pro Bowler: Richard Sherman, Aqib Talib, and Patrick Surtain II.

Adams told a tale about how he saw Sherman in action at Stanford, the university located directly across the street from his high school. Then he remarked that in his debut season, Sherman defeated him.

Adams remarked, “We had some good battles early on.” “In my first year, I was defeated by him.” I will never forget the nasty remarks he made in the end zone during the NFC Championship game after picking me off. That gave me the motivation to come back and give him a whooping later.

“I enjoyed our conflicts. I hold him in high regard as a player.

Although Adams recognized that Surtain is now the finest cornerback in the NFL, he added that people tend to make more of their competition between the two players.

Where Could This Historic Feat Put Davante Adams In NFL History?

He declared, “I’m not avoiding Pat.” “Pat is arguably the league’s greatest corner right now. I adore his gameplay. I hold him in high regard as a player.

In our first meeting, which took place in Week 1, I would say he prevailed because, although I wasn’t playing at my best at the time and missed a few opportunities to score, he’s a really talented player. I predict that he will likely hold the league in a chokehold for the foreseeable future.

Adams named a number of players, including one with whom he frequently spars. Some of the players were ones who caused him issues early in his career. All of these guys have contributed to Adams’ improvement as a player, which benefits the Raiders.

Notes about the OL: Raiders, Packers, Patriots, LT, Guyton, Beebe, Cowboys, Commanders

The Cowboys had options while building their draft board since Tyler Smith delivered solid early returns at both left tackle and left guard. Oklahoma tackle Tyler Guyton was chosen by the team. Guyton’s action suggests that Smith will remain at guard. According to The Athletic’s Jon Machota, the Cowboys plan to give the former Sooners right tackle every chance to earn the starting LT position (subscription required). Teams are more likely to make the opposite move, with left tackles being the most common position for elite O-linemen in college football. Though Guyton sees himself as a more natural left tackle, his progress there will preserve the position of highly compensated right tackle Terence Steele.

Las Vegas Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce Post Win Over Kansas City

The Cowboys acquired an extra third-round pick (No. 73) by trading down from No. 24 to No. 29. Cooper Beebe of Kansas State was selected by Dallas with the later pick; Machota notes that Beebe fits in as the team’s Tyler Biadasz center replacement. The Cowboys passed with the former Blue Devil on the board, Graham Barton, a center prospect from Duke, listed at No. 24 (Barton went to the Buccaneers at No. 26). With the Big 12 program, Beebe wavered between left tackle, right tackle, and left guard. Although Machota believes Beebe may eventually replace Zack Martin at center, Machota believes Beebe will start his career there.

The most recent from O-lines across the league is as follows:

On the right side of their offensive line, the Raiders are changing things up. Jermaine Eluemunor, a right tackle, signed with the Giants, while Greg Van Roten is still available for free. The team selected Maryland’s Delmar Glaze in Round 3 and Oregon’s Jackson Powers-Johnson in Round 2 on Draft Day 2. Powers-Johnson is most likely scheduled for a starting guard position, according to Vic Tafur and Tashan Reed of The Athletic. Glaze is expected to start his career at tackle, but general manager Tom Telesco hinted that guard play would be in his future (via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com).The Athletic reports that Glaze will probably start for the Raiders as their swing tackle, while there’s a chance he might push Thayer Munford, who was defeated by Eluemunor in a position battle last season, for the RT job.
This draft, Washington selected three players in the second round. In a busy Round 2, the Commanders acquired tight end Ben Sinnott, defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton, and cornerback Mike Sainristil. The O-line eventually surfaced in Round 3, where Brandon Coleman of TCU was selected at No. 67. Although Coleman is expected by some to switch to guard, he will not do so at firstAccording to ESPN.com’s John Keim, the previous starter in the national championship game will start for the Commanders at tackle. Coleman played on the blind side for the Horned Frogs during their historic 2022 season, spending a lot of time at LT and LG. Charles Leno, an LT starter, was released by the Washington squad that he joins. As Jayden Daniels’ blindside defender in the third round, Coleman ought to get an opportunity to go to the left side with just swingman Cornelius Lucas in position. Lucas, who has 47 career starts, would serve as backup.

Antonio Pierce faces uphill battle to show he should be Raiders coach

Jordan Morgan is expected to train with the Packers at left tackle. While The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman adds the team enjoyed how 2022 seventh-rounder Rasheed Walker played in relief of David Bakhtiari, Matt LaFleur said the No. 25 overall pick will start his career there. However, the organization’s hand is tipped here by the Morgan investment in the first round. With Andre Dillard in place as a possible swing option alongside the loser of this position struggle, the Packers have constructed some depth following the departure of Bakhtiari.Chukwuma Okorafor and Caedan Wallace, a third-round selection of the Patriots, are expected to compete for the left tackle position in New England. De facto general manager Eliot Wolf stated before to the draft that Okorafor, a veteran right tackle starter for the Steelers, was the starting left tackle for the Patriots (via Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald). Given that Wallace spent all but six of his collegiate snaps at right tackle, this matchup will be very unusual. However, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com points out that Wolf believes the Penn State product is a good LT option. At some point in 2024, the victor will probably be guarding Drake Maye’s blind side. Mike Onwenu will continue to play right tackle.
