Broncos Draft QB Bo Nix With No. 12 Pick

When five quarterbacks were selected in the first ten rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos were not put off. It seems like they managed to get their guy still.

Bo Nix was selected by the Broncos with the 12th overall pick on Thursday. With this, six quarterbacks have been selected out of the first 12 picks. Apparently, the Broncos got their guy even though they had missed out on J.J. McCarthy, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, and Michael Penix Jr.

The Broncos reportedly adored Nix and were amazed by his lightning-fast adoption of their offense, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

According to Schefter, Sean Payton, the head coach of the Broncos, has the same kind of affection for Nix as he did for Patrick Mahomes.

Rumor had it for a long time that Nix would fit in into Payton’s offensive scheme, and the Broncos’ decision to choose him shows how confident they are in his ability. In an interview with ESPN’s Pat McAfee, Payton praised Nix, calling him the “most accurate passer in college football history.” He emphasized some of Nix’s outstanding stats, including his effectiveness on third down, his ability to escape sacks, and his performance in crucial situations like two-minute drills.
