A $15 million offer was made to Caitlin Clark to play in rapper Ice Cube’s Big 3 basketball league. According to co-owner Jeff Kwatinetz, the now-Indiana Fever player ‘was not told about the arrangement’ because of her legal representation.

In addition to her on-court pay, Clark is expected to earn approximately $76,000 in her debut WNBA season. It is also rumored that she has secured a $28 million deal with Nike, which would pay her that sum over the course of the following eight years.

According to Bleacher Report, Kwatinetz’s offer would have front-loaded a sizable salary for Clark, making her the first female player in a men’s professional basketball league in North America.

According to Kwatinetz, Big3 offered Clark a salary of $10 million spread over two years, along with a portion of the team worth millions, 50% of the proceeds from merchandise featuring her name and likeness, and ownership of a BIG3 documentary with a seven-figure advance.

Big3 debuted in 2017, although it hasn’t attained the WNBA’s level of popularity or entered the same league as the NBA. Maybe adding Clark helped two professional leagues take off.

The 38-year-old Nick Young and the 35-year-old Jordan Crawford were part of the “Enemies,” the winners of the previous season.

“We believe that the male agents and executives who control the sport never even shared our innovative offer with Caitlin, much less arranged a meeting for Caitlin to discuss the opportunity with the BIG3,” Kwatinetz stated.

These reps don’t appear to work for a specific customer, such as Caitlin, in our opinion. Their customer list includes a who’s who of NBA players, giving the impression that they work for the mob. Is it reasonable to anticipate that they would give Caitlin precedence over the NBA, which is their most lucrative client? Kwatinetz went on.

The NBA maintains order among its industry of agents, attorneys, managers, and networks by instilling terror in them. Kwatinetz continued, “And that line is to prevent BIG3 success, even if it stunts the growth of women’s basketball.”

Although the WNBA’s season is longer than the Big3’s, it would be challenging to play both leagues concurrently because they both play throughout the summer.

Even though the WNBA would be her main emphasis, anything is still possible given the interest in Clark and the money that can be generated.

With the comment, “One year of the best mems w my fav person,” Clark posted a monochrome photo of the couple to her Instagram.

“You brighten my day every day, and I look forward to many more adventures with you… I adore you.

With a sincere thank you of his own, McCaffrey posted on Instagram, saying, “One year with the best.”

“Living with you has been effortless, and you never cease to astound me.” I’m excited to witness you live out your aspirations in person. I cherish you.

The couple met in Iowa and made their Instagram debut in August. Being a gifted baseball player, McCaffrey had even considered trying to enter the MLB Draft before the virus destroyed his dreams.

The Indiana Fever selected Clark with the first choice last week, and many believe she will dominate the WNBA.

She led the Hawkeyes to a second consecutive national championship game while averaging 31.6 points per game.

In addition, Clark is anticipated to ink an eight-year, $28 million contract with Nike, which will enable her to introduce her own line of trademark sneakers.

However, Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, believes Clark ought to be compensated far more.

Earlier this week, Portnoy posted on X, “If people want to complain about Caitlin Clark getting screwed, complain about this.” This 8-year, 28-million-dollar agreement is STEALING. Her worth is eight years and eighty million minutes, which is perhaps too little.

“I hope when she blows through this deal, she has an early opt out if they don’t pay up.”

According to the WSJ, Clark reportedly received offers of $16 million from Under Armour over four years and $6 million from Adidas over four years, both of which included a signature shoe.

Clark’s starting salary for her first season with the Fever is expected to be just over $76,000.

On May 14, they take on Connecticut Sun in their first game of the season.
