Good news: Tiger Woods reveals his four-player TGL lineup, which includes one fascinating subject.
The six teams in the fledgling league are almost finished as they get ready for the league’s 2025 season. Tiger Woods has revealed his TGL team’s lineup.
Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner are the other three players on Jupiter Links Golf Club, one of the six four-person teams playing in the tech-enhanced indoor golf league supported by Woods and Rory McIlroy. Woods announced the announcement in a video on Twitter on Monday.
Although we knew in November that David Blitzer and Tiger Woods’ TGR Ventures were joint owners of Jupiter Links Golf Club, the roster wasn’t made public until Monday. In addition to being an owner or partner of several professional sports teams, Blitzer is a co-founder of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment.
Woods stated in a release, “I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product.” “Having finalized our roster with a group of elite golfers, I have even greater faith that this group will represent the Jupiter area with pride and engage with our supporters for many years to come.”
Whether on purpose or not, there appears to be a recurring pattern among the three players chosen for Jupiter Links, and it’s not just that none of them live in the same region as Woods—Jupiter, Florida. They just ought to look good on television. or even be more interesting than some of the other TGL guys. This is the reason why:
—Homa is one of the athletes that uses social media the most, and his quick wit and self-deprecating humor have won his followers. In the past few years, he has also performed admirably, winning five times since 2021. He just finished T3 at the Masters, which was his best major finish to date.
—Kim, who is 21 years old, has already gained a cult following thanks to his three PGA Tour victories and his popularity at the 2022 Presidents Cup. Throughout the most recent season of “Full Swing,” Kim showcased a bit of her endearing innocence as she rode a mobile beverage cooler with speakers around his house and unintentionally entered the Augusta National Champions Locker Room. And who could forget the 2023 PGA Championship, when Kim had to change into new clothing after going viral for wading through the muck in search of a tee shot?
Lastly, there’s Kisner, a four-time PGA Tour winner who has been transparent about his difficulties throughout the past 12 months. He finished 68th out of 69 players at last week’s RBC Heritage, having missing his first six cuts of the season.
However, Kisner, 40, has also dabbled in the NBC Sports booth, receiving positive reviews during his brief stint. His qualities—relatableness, humor, and sharpness—translate well to engaging a TV and in-studio TGL audience, something Homa and Kim would also be excellent at.
We’ll have to wait and see for the time being. The TGL’s inaugural season was rescheduled until 2025 when the roof collapsed during a storm in November, damaging the new arena. On January 7, 2025, ESPN will premiere the first episode at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida’s SoFi Center, a 250,000 square foot space.
