In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders will likely select a quarterback, but they must be careful to select the best one. Despite problems at the position, the squad finished the previous season 8-9. The Raiders might make the playoffs this year if they can select the right player in the draft.
But if the team adds the incorrect one, things could go wrong. Bo Nix of Oregon might be a possibility for the Raiders, but Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report thinks Las Vegas should stay away from that quarterback.

The team most equipped to adopt a patient strategy is the Raiders, who are in dire need of a quarterback. Rather than selecting Nix at No. 13, they would be better suited sticking with Gardner Minshew as quarterback for the entire season.
In 2023, Nix had a record-breaking 77.45% completion rate in a single season for the NCAA. Despite his accuracy, he lacks a great deal of arm skill. Nix isn’t the greatest choice for the Raiders’ style of offense since they want to be able to chuck the ball downfield.
Bo Nix May Become a Billionaire
One of the more challenging quarterbacks to assess in the draft is Bo Nix. In college, he had outstanding stats and a successful career at Oregon. In spite of this, Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton projects Nix to be a 75% bust in the NFL.
In a column published on April 21, Moton stated, “With a decorated college resume and ample starting experience, Nix could compete for a starting job on a team with an unsettled quarterback situation.”
But despite his flashy passing stats, Nix lacks the “it” factor due to his arm talent. Although Nix’s mobility will help him avoid pocket pressure, he doesn’t seem to be a playmaker who can elevate an offense beyond that.
There is a possibility that six quarterbacks will be chosen this year because first-round picks rarely turn into successful players. It is more likely that half of them will be busts than Pro Bowl players. It is likely that Nix will be one of the busts.

Jayden Daniels of LSU is the most suitable option for the Raiders. It is obvious that the team wants to add him, and there seems to be interest on both sides. At Arizona State, head coach Antonio Pierce served as his recruiting coordinator, and during that period, the two got to know one another. The Raiders would need to trade up to choose Daniels because he is projected to be among the first three picks.
It will cost a lot of money to move up into the top three. Michael Penix Jr. of Washington makes some sense if Daniels isn’t available. He’s got a powerful arm and can throw the ball over the field, unlike Bo Nix. Though he has injury issues, he has the potential to be a good quarterback if he can stay healthy.
